Christmas Break

 

Informal Theme # 10 Blog # 10

          My Christmas break is fun. Going to church and bonding with my family is my business. We sang on a simbang gabi on the 22nd of December and practices from 18th till the 24th. we had our concert last December 24 and it was very successful. It was fun. On the 29th we went on kuya Jerome's burial, though very sad, we said to ourselves that its alright for we know that he is happy on where he is now and he is together with God. Next year January 21, 2011 we are about to sing at 4 pm.

Christmas Party

 

Informal Theme # 9 Blog # 9

          On the 17th day of  December this year, we had our Christmas party. This day was not that so exciting for me, because it is a costume party. My costume is lady Santa. I was not that exposed wearing that kind of costume. We came there wearing our casual attire. We were there for a long time. After a few minutes we went to ma'am Berganos' house. We cooked barbecue for our pot luck. As we finish cooking we went to school right away for our Christmas party was about to start. We had our parlor games for that long time. Then we had our lunch. After having our lunch, we had our school level Christmas Party. It was kinda boring but later on became a bit exciting. Our party lasted from 8 am up to 7 pm. Then Jean and I shouted many korean words which I didn't understand. It was just my trip to join her. Then we went home safe and sound.

UP Diliman trip

 

Informal Theme # 8 Blog # 8

           Our UP Diliman trip was done on December 12, 2010. That was my birthday. At first, I didn't expect that they would remember my birthday. Before we rode our bus, many of them greeted me. On the bus, someone shouted, let's sing a birthday song for Divine. Then they sang loudly, 3 fluorine together with the 3 oxygen. All of us were there before 5:30 am then we started rolling at 6 am. When we're at UP, all of us are very excited. Some face from show business showed up. While we are there, we waited for a long time at one of its pathway. After a long time of waiting, we went inside the theater to watch the musical play "Isang Panaginip na Fili". The play was successfully done. I can say that it was done so well in that i have no negative comment about it. In the end of the play, when many clapped for their success, you will see in their faces their wide smiles from their hardworks. After the play, we went to Mall of Asia. It was very fun for I roamed around there with my friends. It was also very funny because for a very long time we were there, we were only able to buy chocolate and hand sanitizer from bench. We ate at Mang Inasal, and after that, we just roamed around and around and at 6 pm, we have left SM mall of Asia. While we were on our way, I kept on laughing, and I don't even know the reason behind. I can say that, that day was very tiring, yet full of fun and joy.

Trip to Trece Martirez, Cavite

 

Informal Theme # 7 Blog # 7

          On this day, December 03, 2010, we went to Trece Martirez, Cavite to watch the stage play Ibong Adarna. My crush Arron Villaflor, played the role of Don Juan. He is very handsome. I adore him so much for he is so good. The play Ibong Adarna was done successfully. The actors did well. You can see the cooperation of the members to produce a nice stage play.

          Next we went to SM Dasmariñas. I bought nothing important, only hand sanitizer and bookmarks. My friend Kim and I bought a friendship bookmark for us. It shows that we really are friends. We spent a lot of time roaming around the mall then we went to KFC to eat and then to Dunkin' Donuts to buy pasalubong.

Family Bonding

Informal Theme # 6 Blog # 6

          Family bonding is very important in every family. It helps them show their love for every member in the family. It can show that there is no favoritism existing among the children. It also shows the love of husband to his wife. There are many bonding which may be done. Like watching movies in sala set, going the park, having picnic, going swimming, most important, talking to god. There is a saying "A family that prays together stays together. Going to church every sunday is also one essence of family bonding.

Divine Comedy

 

Informal Theme # 5 Blog # 5

          The Divine Comedy is an epic poem written by Dante Alighieri and is seen as one of the greatest works of worl literature. The poem's imaginative and allegorical vision of the afterlife is a culmination of the medieval world view as it had developed in the Western Church.It is divided into three parts, the Inferno, Paradiso and Purgatorio. It is said that the last word in every cantica in the word "star".

          Inferno... The poem begins night of good Friday in the year 1300. Dante is 35 years old, it is the half of the biblical life expectancy 70. Allegorically, Inferno represents Christian soul seeing sin for what it really is. The three beast ( lion, leopard and she-wolf)  also represents three types of sins. These sins are the self-indulgent, the violent, and the malicious. These three types of sin also provide the three main divisions of Dante's Hell: Upper Hell (the first 5 Circles) for the self-indulgent sins; Circles 6 and 7 for the violent sins; and Circles 8 and 9 for the malicious sins.

          Purgatorio... Having survived the depths of Hell, Dante and Virgil ascend out of the undergloom, to the Mountain of Purgatory on the far side of the world. The Mountain is on an island, the only land in the Southern Hemisphere. The mountain has 7 terraces which represents the 7 roots of sinfulness popularly known as the 7 deadly sins.Allegorically, the Purgatorio represents the Christian life. Christian souls arrive escorted by an angel, singing in exitu Israel de Aegypto. In his Letter to Cangrande, Dante explains that this reference to Israel leaving Egypt refers both to the redemption of Christ and to "the conversion of the soul from the sorrow and misery of sin to the state of grace." So it was known that Dante and Virgil arrived hear on easter sunday.


          Paradiso... After ascension, Beatrice guides Dante through the 9 spheres of heaven. These are concentric and spherical. While the structures of the Inferno and Purgatorio were based on different classifications of sin, the structure of the Paradiso is based on the four cardinal virtues and the three theological virtues.  The Paradiso is consequently more theological in nature than the Inferno and the Purgatorio. However, Dante admits the vision of heaven he receives is the one that his human eyes permit him to see, and the vision of heaven found in the Cantos is Dante's own personal one.

scouting

Informal theme # 4 Blog # 4

          Scouting... I can say that our scouting this year is very exciting and very fun. It was done successfully. At first I thought it would be boring, but i was wrong. We've done a lot of parlor games in the morning. I like it so much for our teamwork would be tested through the games. It also helps us communicate with our schoolmates though not friends and not close to us. The game i joined is the one where blanket is used. There are 20 members to play and turn the blanket on it's opposite side. The next i love most is the treasure hunt. There we recited the girl scout promise and law. The part i love most are the balot eating and the basketball shooting. I didn't expect that I can shoot three times. I told them I don't know how to shoot and I can't. After I done it, they told me this  "Yan pala hindi marunong no.." Then I replied " Chamba lang yun. Hindi kasi talaga ako naglalaro niyan." Then we laughed and went to the next station. In the evening, after we had our dinner, we had our spiritual night which made me cry. It is because there was a video shown, showing the sacrifices of Jesus Christ for us humans, for humans will not be punished. The next morning, we had our morning exercise and then some games. Saliw also taught us tutting. It was very fun. After matering that, the guest speaker came. She taught us everything about cervical cancer. I knew that cancer can be transmitted even without direct contact with an infected person. Then after being taught, we went home to our houses.

Sem-Break

 

Informal Theme # 3 Blog # 3

          Sem-break. Our Sembreak lasted for a week. It started last Monday, October 25,2010. It will resume tomorrow, November 2. For this one whole week, I've done my assignments and projects.The most difficult for me among these are English(M.R) and mathematics.

          Movie Review because we were not able to watch the movie Rose Red completely. It is always fast forwarded fot it is so long. Mathematics because it is difficult to make figures and plot points and give it's equations. But it's all right with me, because for me, every difficulties have an exchange of happiness.

          During our sem-break also, our choir had time to practice with almost complete members. Now that our sem-break will end, I will need to go to sleep early again because I'm going to wake up 4 am again then go to schoo.

Being an Older Sister

 

Informal Theme #2 Blog #2

     I can say that being the oldest among the children in a family  is difficult. You will always need to be thoughtful, generous, and kind to your siblings. You should also serve as a good example for them. It is because they will always like to try what you are doing and what you are going to do.

     I can also say that it is happy. I enjoy my life with my sister. We always play games and play jokes on each other. After those we are going to laugh. Then we are going to eat our mirienda  together. I will treasure every moment of my life. This will help me encourage and endure myself for each and every struggle which is going to cross my life and our family's life.

Church Life

 

Informal theme #1 Blog #1

     Every Saturday, my cousin and I are going to the church. It is because we are scheduled to sing for the mass. We are members of a singing group, the name of this singing group is Purihin Chorale. We are members for almost two years. Since then, we always go to church for the rehearsals. Usually, we are practicing during sundays at 4pm and sometimes 2pm or 3

     These is our weekly routine. During vacations, we are practicing on weekdays. As always, afternoon time. Sometimes, we're having it whole day. I enjoy this routine of ours. It does not keep me boring and staying at home the whole day.And aside from this, I enjoy it because I'm serving at the church and to God.

Difficult School Life

 

Informal Theme # 8 Blog # 8

     School life is not that easy. To many homeworks, and projects to pass. I can say so, it's difficult, but it would be just some of the things which may help us reach our dreams. I know pre-schooling is just our first and foremost primary level in achieving our goals. This is just the first challenge to us. The intermediate level is more difficult than pre-school. More things to learn, and absolutely more difficult assignments and projects to encounter. Now, I am in secondary stage, i can say that school life is hard, but its fun. I experienced so much fun with my classmates, and friends. 

     I can say and advise to my fellow friends and classmates not to complain and complain about the difficulties they are encountering in our school life. It is because I believe in the elders' saying that there is always ease and happiness after the difficulties and sadness.

     Fellow students and friends, don't lose hope and strength. We are doing this to reach our dreams. I know someday we would reach that star and meet successes. Just enough faith, always pray to god, thank him, apologize and ask for guidance and don't forget to have a positive outlook in life. These tips are big help for us.

Family

 

Informal Theme # 7 Blog # 7

     Family... A family is said to be united in a home, where they live. A family, i believe, is composed of different members. This different members has their own different tasks in their home.

     A mother... A mother is the light of the home. Why light? It is because our mothers are those responsible in enlightening us, there children. In nurturing us. Our mother are our first teachers. They were the first to teach us how to read, to write, to count and many more things. Being a mother is not easy. They were the ones cooking our food, cleaning the house, washing and ironing our clothes, washing the dishes, and taking care of us when we are sick.

      A father... A father is the wall of the home. Wall because they were in charged of the financial needs of a family and they were the ones responsible for maintaining the strong bond in the house. Of course included there is the discipline among the children.

     Last, but not the least, the children... Us the children, are the blessings of God to our parents. We are in charge of helping our parents and other relatives (grandparents, uncle and aunts) in our homes. We should make their works lighter. For the girls, simply by helping our mother wash the dishes,  fold the clothes, ironing our clothes, cleaning the house and cooking our food. And for the boys, helping our fathers in repairing things as broken chairs, washing the car and even handing him the light when replacing the old ones.

     These are the main secrets in maintaining the strong bonds in a family including the prayers. The family that prays together stays together. =))

     I have watched this video in http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8M97YwPOM7g a few weeks ago... This video made me appreciate more the importance of life. A cute baby girl was born on June 23, 2008. She was named Kayleigh. She was borned as a premature baby. Seeing her in this video shocked me. I could not believe that a baby may be that small. She really was small. Actually the size of her wrist is just as the size of our middle finger.
     Seeing her would actually make you pity her. She was just held by her parents by two hands. Stuff toys are even bigger than her. After her birth, they still stayed in the hospital for a hundred plus days. i almost cried seeing many apparati attached on her very little body, but seeing her pushing through to survive would really make you amazed. Because she's too small,I and you would not believe that she's trying to push through like a big man.
     After several days, according to this video, she started to grow. And I saw that there is really a big difference. You would actually see the change in the size of her foot. She became healthy, but unfortunately, she encountered problems again. She actually undergone many operations. Succeeded the operations and she was brought home by her parents. Unluckily, she only lasted for almost 11 months. On the 11th day of May year 2009, she passed away. Her parents were still happy because even for a short time, God gave them the opportunity to show her how she is loved by them.

Interpretation:

     Elizabeth Barrett Browning loves Robert Browning so much. Because of this, she is being confused on how she is going to show and express her love for him. She loves him to the deepness, even in distances or heights. Even though they're far away from each other, they can feel love between them. She loves him with passion. She loves him with all her heart and soul. She might love him at the present but she shall love him better after death.

    

Friendship

Informal Theme # 2 Blog # 2

     Friendship. When we say friendship, it literally means relationships between friends. Have you ever had a friend? I am sure you did had a friend. My life is boring without the presence of friendship. Having friends makes mi feel good. It makes me feel loved. Actually, not just good and loved, but it also makes me feel important, cared and special. Special in a way that, he of she treats me uniquely from the others.

     Friends...What are friends? Friends are someone you can lean on, someone you can cry on, and someone who will not leave you in times of problems, especially in times of griefs and difficulties. They are the people who comfort you other than your family. They sometimes function or work as an adviser to you. They could give you good advises when you need it. Ther are the ones who can help you understand the things ununderstandable to you.

     Beware. There are also fake friends. I'm telling you. Be careful in choosing your friends. Some others may lead you into wrong paths. They just want to mess up your name to other people and let those people think that you are bad and not trustworthy enough. They may bring you away and far from your family. They may also harm your lives and at the same time, ruin it.

Love

Informal Theme # 1 Blog #1

     What comes to your mind when you hear the word love? Love for me is an emotion dwelling from someone's heart. As we all know, there are many types of love. Examples of this are  love for self, love for mankind, love for God, and love for nature.

     Love for self. According to some people whom i hear, as they say, that if you love someone, you should also leave even a little love for yourself. I believe in this. Because when you love somebody so much, you should not give your whole heart to him or her. Why? Because they might use this as their power to hurt you not only once but repeatedly.                                                                                                                

     Love for mankind. This does not mean loving everyone around you, but simply having concern for them. Love for God. It simply means following the ten commandments, talking to Him through praying, and doing good deeds to people around you. By this, you show your love for Him.                                           

     How about love for nature? This does not differ so much from others. It is just that you show love for nature instead of mankind. You can show your love for nature by taking care of it. Such that you plant more trees, you do not kill endangered species of animals, and many more which can save it from harm. This are the kinds of love which can help us maintain peace not just in our country, but all over the world.
